The fight for social justice and economic equity has deep roots in the Black and Brown communities of Los Angeles. Throughout history, we have found strength in unity, power in our collective voice, and hope in our shared struggles. As the city stands on the brink of transformative change, we must unite again to support a movement committed to creating a more equitable future for all Angelenos. The path forward is clear: we must stand with the LA Labor Movement and vote “Yes” on Measure A.

Addressing a Crisis in Our Communities

Measure A is designed to tackle two of our communities’ most urgent issues: housing and homelessness. These are not abstract policy issues; they are crises that Black and Brown communities confront daily. We see our families struggling to pay rent, working multiple jobs to make ends meet, and dealing with the reality that too many of our neighbors are without homes. Homelessness disproportionately affects people of color in Los Angeles, and it is a moral and economic issue that we cannot afford to ignore.

By supporting Measure A, we are advocating for increased funding for affordable housing initiatives and more comprehensive support for those experiencing homelessness. It’s a tangible step toward ensuring that no one in our communities has to worry about finding a place to live or struggling to stay in their homes.

Economic Opportunity and Labor Rights

Beyond addressing the housing crisis, Measure A is fundamentally about economic justice. The Black and Brown communities comprise a significant portion of Los Angeles’ workforce. Yet, we have historically faced economic disparities, wage gaps, and limited access to well-paying jobs. Measure A, backed by the LA Labor Movement, seeks to create pathways for economic empowerment through solid labor protections, fair wages, and opportunities for secure employment.

This measure also aims to strengthen the voice of workers in their workplaces, ensuring that they have the power to advocate for fair treatment, safe working conditions, and a seat at the table. Labor rights are civil rights, and by standing in solidarity with the labor movement, we are demanding respect, fair pay, and dignity for every worker in Los Angeles.

Unity Across Communities of Color

The importance of unity cannot be overstated. Black and Brown communities have faced systemic racism and economic inequality for generations, often perpetuated by policies and systems designed to maintain the status quo. But when we unite—across race, neighborhoods, and struggles—we become a powerful force for change.

Measure A represents an opportunity to stand together as one voice and demand a better future for our communities. By aligning with the LA Labor Movement, we are supporting policies that will benefit Black and Brown workers and committing to a more inclusive, equitable, and just vision of Los Angeles.

Ensuring a Better Future for Our Children

Voting “Yes” on Measure A is about more than addressing immediate challenges. It’s about ensuring the next generation can access opportunities and resources many of us never had. It’s about creating a city where our children can grow up with access to safe, affordable housing, quality education, and fair employment opportunities—a city where hard work is rewarded with fair pay and where the rights of all workers are protected.

The Call to Action

Now is the time for action. The Black and Brown communities have always been at the forefront of change, leading the charge for civil rights, equality, and justice. Voting “Yes” on Measure A is a continuation of this legacy, a step toward building a Los Angeles where everyone, regardless of race, income, or zip code, has the chance to thrive.

By standing with the LA Labor Movement and voting for Measure A, we can ensure our communities are heard, respected, and uplifted. Together, we can create a Los Angeles that is truly a city for all its people.

Vote Yes on Measure A. Stand with the Labor Movement. Stand for justice, equity, and opportunity.
