Rep. Karen Bass (File photo)

Election day is November 8th, but there is no reason to wait to drop off your ballot.

We have all seen what mayoral candidate Rick Carusocan buy with $80,000,000 worth of TV and radio advertising.  But, what cannot be bought are the people’s voices here in Los Angeles.  However, refusing to be bought requires action.  Not delayed action but hard, swift and decisive action.  The kind of action where we get up, get out and turn in our voter ballot cards NOW, not later.

November 8, 2022 is in fact Election Day.  But, times have changed and we don’t need to wait or procrastinate by voting 10 days from now.  We need to mail in our ballots now, which frees us up to make phone calls, send emails and text messages encouraging our friends and family to do the same.

Karen Bass has been a loyal and dedicated servant of the people.  She has been one of the most vigilant and committed elected leaders we have ever had and now we must stand with her and make sure that we turn out in record numbers to ensure that she makes history and is elected the first female mayor in the history of Los Angeles.

We don’t need empty promises and rhetoric.  What we need is experienced and proven leadership.  Karen Bass has the track record and history that our city needs to guide us forward.

As Speaker of the California Assembly, it was Karen who brought legislators together to fix California’s broken economy.  In Congress, it was Karen Bass who brought forward the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.  It is these things and so many more that make Karen Bass the best and only choice for a better Los Angeles for us all.

This campaign has been brutal and her character has been under attack, time and time again, both in the primary, and now in the general election.  It is one thing to have faith in the electoral process, but as the Bible says in James 2:17, “Faith without works is dead.”

Faith is not enough.  We need to vote in record numbers.  Not one single ballot should remain unmailed and sitting on someone’s desk, counter top, in a drawer or stuck on the sun visor of your car.  We need to do everything that we possibly can to ensure that Karen Bass is the next Mayor of Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, when you are a billionaire, you can easily pump over $80 million dollars into your own campaign to say anything you want about the other candidate.  Karen Bass, on the other hand, has raised about $7,000,000 from hardworking and dedicated supporters trying to help her make history.  But, at this point, while money helps, it is voter turnout and volunteer support that is essential to securing a victory.

So, we are calling on everyone to get your ballots in, go by the campaign office at 3601 S. La Brea Ave., in Los Angeles, and volunteer. Get a yard sign to encourage others to vote, pick up a call sheet from the campaign office and call or go by friends’ homes and pick up their ballots or drive them to a post office or ballot drop off location.

The most important thing is VOTE!  Let’s make history and Elect Karen Bass for Mayor!
