Final show takes place Thursday, April 6th

Veteran comedian/actor Anthony “Scruncho” McKinley presents his first ever one-man show “All I Needed Was a Hug,” a powerful stage play about his life journey from child neglect to comedic glory. Produced by Emmy Award-winning media maven Sherri Shepherd, “All I Needed Was a Hug” will be presented at the Two Roads Theater, Thursday, April 6.

Hailed by Vibe Magazine as “King of the Underground,” Scruncho has entertained audiences around the country with his raw brand of street-conscious comedy for nearly two decades, including several television appearances on HBO’s “1st Amendment Standup” and “BET’s Comicview.” Now the entertainer takes a more dramatic turn to share his life story in a candid tour de force performance that chronicles his journey to comedic triumph, including his days of neglect as a child, his struggles with gangs and drugs, to his days in prison that followed, to the moment he ran in a comedy club and jumped on stage and pretended to be a comedian to allude the police – the day that changed his life forever.  Scruncho spares no detail or emotion for this tell-all piece, which is gritty, hilarious, unapologetic, passionate and triumph.
