Three people were wounded and a gunman was found dead this morning in a shooting at a Lancaster restaurant.

A sheriff’s SWAT team rescued a woman with a gunshot wound who was believed held hostage in the restaurant in the 42100 block of Sierra Highway and found the suspect inside the restaurant dead, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The shooting was reported at 12:12 a.m. at the restaurant, said Schrader.

Two other men were taken to hospitals with gunshot wounds, she said. It was not clear whether they were taken by ambulance or private vehicles and the conditions of all three wounded people were not available.

A news videographer at the scene reported the incident started with an altercation inside the Culichi Town restaurant and that a man pulled out a gun and got into a shootout with a security guard. FOX11 reported the sheriff’s SWAT team rescued a wounded woman who apparently was a hostage inside the restaurant and found the suspect dead inside.
