During his time at Cathedral he ran track and was the president of the National Honor Society. He also volunteered at School on Wheels and tutored students in his Advance Placement Calculus class. She has enrolled in nine AP classes and is the senior co-president and Black Student Union vice president. (Courtesy Photo) Q’Marr Allen-Los Angeles Senior running back Q’Marr Allen was recently named on the CIF City Section Division III All-City First Team. He is also a member of Students Deserves where he helped interview and choose her new principal. Allen is also the sports commissioner at L.A. High. (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel) Kimaya Lampkin-View Park Kimaya Lampkin plays volleyball and rugby for View Park. Competing in rugby allowed her to travel to Tanzania, the Philippines, Japan and other countries. Sentinel) Jonah Edmond-Crenshaw With a 3.5 GPA, Jonah Edmond had the highest GPA of the Crenshaw football team. Through the Upward Bound Program, he was able to take college courses like sign language and astronomy. Edmond also is a praise dancer at his church. (Photo by Rob Helfman) Ryan Lacefield-Carson Sprinter Ryan Lacefield is the 2019 City Section Champion of the 200m and the 400m. She is also a member of the girls 4x100m and 4x400m. She was able to reach the CIF State Prelims this year. Lacefield took three Advance Placement classes. (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel) Jordan Blackman-West Point His contending talents on offense and defense at St. Genevieve high school got him an offer for the West Point football team. He is a student ambassador for leadership, ethics, and diversity in STEM (LEADS) where he mentors youth. Blackman is also involved with Team Impact where a kid with a disability is welcomed to a team. (Courtesy Photo) Elijah Dobson-Dorsey Elijah Dobson helped the Dorsey Dons baseball team have an undefeated record in the Coliseum League. He has a 3.4 GPA and was a member of the FOX mentor program. This led him to getting an interior design internship. Clubs and organizations that Dobson is involved in include the Young, Black Scholars Program, the BSU, the 100 Black Men and the Brotherhood Crusade (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel) Morgan Redford-Morningside Morgan Redford plays basketball and volleyball, she also is a cheerleader. She recently took two AP classes and works with the Morningside ASB. As a leader of the basketball team, Redford had to teach younger players about the sport. Sentinel) Sydney Blevins-Hamilton Hamilton girls basketball player Sydney Blevins has a 3.2 GPA and is a member of the BSU. During the 2018-2019 season, she helped the team to a 25-7 overall record. This lifted the Yankees to the Open Division playoffs. Blevins also plays the upright bass for the school orchestra. (Amanda Scurlock/L.A. Sentinel) Ingvar Moseley-Cal State LA Hurdler Ingvar Moseley earned the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors. He also won the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic Award. Moseley also won the CCAA Championships in the 110 hurdles.
