Words of the Week – Don’t Make Change Your Enemy

In Malachi 3:6, God says, “For I am the Lord, I change not.” Isn’t that comforting? With all the changes we face every day, there is one thing that can never change — God. The mind of God does not change, for God does not change. Things change and they change according to His sovereign will. Nothing is static. Society changes, culture changes and people change. Opportunities for change are all around us. And there is nothing wrong with creating the change you want to see. Change presents us with something different. Words of the Week – Halloween: Saints vs. ‘Haints’

Right after Jesus died on the cross, Matthew 27:51-53 tells us: “Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.” It is believed God opened the graves of those who followed Him to underscore Jesus’ resurrection. As a result, people began to celebrate what became known as All Saints Day
