The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has issued a disaster declaration for Los Angeles County that will make low-interest federal disaster loans available to businesses and residents impacted by the Woolsey Fire announced SBA Administrator Linda McMahon. This SBA disaster declaration covers Los Angeles, Butte and Ventura counties as a result of the wildfires that began in California this month.

Assembly Member Marie Waldron, 75th District, recently announced that she is authoring ACA 24 to provide relief for the property owners that were affected by the devastating wildfires last year, and the mudslides that followed. Jerome E. Horton, 3rd District Board Member of the State Board of Equalization is the primary sponsor of the measure.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
The latest scam targets people selling equipment used for disaster relief, such as diesel generators, chainsaws, motor boats and boating supplies, on websites like Craigslist or eBay.
