LAPD Partners with PVJOBS to Give Away Toys and Food to 1,000 South Los Angeles Residents
To help uplift spirits during the Christmas season, PVJOBS partnered with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Saturday to give away toys and food to about 1,000 community members in need. Co-sponsored by PVJOBS, the toy and food drive took place at the South Park Recreation Center in South Los Angeles and was coordinated by the LAPD’s nearby Newton Division.
Councilman Curren Price, Mayor Eric Garcetti and Supervisor Hilda Solis Bring Hope to Hope Street With New Homeless Shelter
It was a great day to have hope in Los Angeles as Councilman Curren Price, Mayor Eric Garcetti and Supervisor Hilda Solis celebrated the completion of the first Bridge Home in District 9. Coining the term, “Bringing Hope to Hope Street,” many gathered on March 5, to support the new temporary housing unit located on 2817 S. Hope Street. This specific location will now be the twelfth to open in LA as part of the city’s homeless shelter program. The new shelter will house 100 homeless men and women from the community and help them transition into permanent supportive housing.

L.A. Christian Health Centers Aids the Homeless with Healthcare
An unassuming door on Winston St. in downtown L.A. opens into a range of valuable medical services for people on Skid Row. Known as the Joshua House Clinic, the facility is part of the Los Angeles Christian Health Centers (LACHC), a faith-based nonprofit that operates in many underserved areas in the city.
