Congressional Black Caucus Calls on Secretary Perdue to Rescind Proposed Rule to End SNAP

The Congressional Black Caucus sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue regarding the recent Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM). This NPRM, which was published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)entitled Revision of the Categorical Eligibility in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,  would harm millions of hard-working families who rely on SNAP.  

Recall Release: OLYMPIA MEATS RECALLS READY-TO-EAT PORK SAUSAGE PRODUCTS DUE TO MISBRANDING AND UNDECLARED ALLERGENS

Olympia Meats, a Portland, Ore., establishment is recalling approximately 198 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pork sausage products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product contains pistachios (tree nuts), a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. 

Choice Canning Company, Inc. Recalls Chicken Fried Rice Products Due tto Misbranding and Undeclared Allergens

Choice Canning Company, Inc., a Pittston, Pa. establishment, is recalling approximately 35,459 pounds of chicken fried rice products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
