New Law to Make California First State to End Bail

California’s new law is the latest development in the nationwide debate over bail, which many people say unfairly punishes people for being poor. Other states including New Jersey, Alaska and New Mexico have overhauled their bail systems, although no other state has completely eliminated bail.

Steve Bradford Inducted Into Gardena Wall of Fame

Bradford honored for dedicated years of service to Gardena On Sat., Oct. 10, lawmaker Steven Bradford was officially inducted into the Gardena Wall of Fame at Gardena City Hall.  Gardena Mayor Paul Tanaka officiated the outdoor ceremony that took place on the lawn adjacent to city hall and was attended by Board of Equalization Chairman Jerome Horton and his wife Inglewood City Clerk Yvonne Horton among others.  Former Gardena Mayor Donald Dear and Reverend John and Nancy Ward joined Bradford as this year’s honorees.
