CMEs Plan Spring Convocation and Quadrennial Celebration

The Southern California Region of the CME Church will open their Spring Convocation and Quadrennial Celebration on Friday, April 13, at Lewis Metropolitan CME Church, 4900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles. Bishop Bobby R. Best, presiding prelate of the CME Ninth Episcopal District, will oversee the gathering. The Rev. Travis Morris is the host pastor. Activities begin with registration at 8 a.m. The agenda includes worship services, business sessions and leadership development training. At 1 p.m., Bishop Clement W. Bishop Best Appoints CME Pastors for 2017-18

Bishop Bobby Best, presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, recently announced the pastoral appointments for the Southern California Region (SCR). The assignments were revealed on July 22 at the close of the historic combined annual conference session of the district’s five regions.   The joint session was held in Phoenix, Arizona, in conjunction with the Christian Leadership Training School. CMEs feature Miles College President

Miles College President Dr. George T. French, Jr., will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, October 11, at the 2015 National Connectional Lay Day celebration of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.   The 3:30 p.m. celebration will take place at Lewis Metropolitan CME, 4900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles.
