Grant AME and Everytown For Gun Safety Host Program for Gun Violence Survivors

Grant AME Church, Everytown For Gun Safety and State Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) will co-host a special program to show support for victims of gun violence on Saturday, November 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., on the Grant AME campus, 10435 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles, announced the Rev. Dr. J. Arthur Rumph, host pastor. Arvis Jones, Grant musician and gun violence victim, will also participate.

Rumph Seeks Higher Service in AME Church

The Rev. Dr. J. Arthur Rumph is among the candidates seeking the office of bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. With 36 years in the pastoral ministry, he believes his experience and qualifications have prepared him to serve effectively at the episcopal level. His efforts will culminate in July when tens of thousands of AMEs gather in Philadelphia, PA for the 50th Session of the General Conference and elect six people as bishop.
