During a Re-Entry Resources and Health Fair on June 15, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove presented Turning Point AOD with $900,000 for housing and all the supportive services necessary to empower formerly incarcerated women.
The program seeks to provide permanent supportive housing to individuals who are homeless, have a mental health and/or substance use disorder, and who are incarcerated in the Los Angeles County Jail.
On December 16, Burton will inaugurate the SAFE Housing Network by welcoming activists from around the country to a two-day replication training session in Los Angeles; it will be the first of multiple training sessions that will continue throughout 2019 and 2020.
