Mark Ridley-Thomas Formally Kicks Off City Council Campaign

Firefighters and carpenters, members of the faith community and the arts community, local neighborhood activists and elected officials from throughout the region, and volunteers from every walk of life turned out Saturday, December 14 for Mark Ridley-Thomas’ official City Council campaign kickoff.

Southern MBC hosts Church Development Conference

Maximizing ministry potential is the goal of the 2015 Church Development Conference sponsored by Southern Missionary Baptist Church (MBC) of Los Angeles. The four-day events aims to equip pastors, ministry leaders and congregations with scripture, tools and resources to effect positive change in churches and the community. The conference takes place on the campus of Southern MBC, located at 4678 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles. Sessions begin Saturday, July 18, at 10 a.m., and continues on Sunday, July 19, at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. On Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21, workshops will start at 7 p.m.
