Macedonia Baptist Church Salutes Pastor’s 7th Anniversary

The members of historic Macedonia Baptist Church will salute the Rev. Shane B. Scott’s seventh anniversary as pastor on Sunday, March 3, at 10 a.m., in the church’s sanctuary located at 1751 East 114th St., in Los Angeles. The theme is “Willing and Eager Shepherd” and the guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Freddy J. Clark, pastor and founder of Shalom Church (City of Peace) in Florissant, Missouri. Macedonia Baptist, the oldest African American church in the Watts community, was organized in 1908. Scott has began as the spiritual leader in November 2011 and was officially installed as pastor

People’s Independent Hosts MLK Interfaith Prayer Breakfast

In a salute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., People’s Independent Church of Christ (PICC) will sponsor its 2017 MLK Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m. The event, coordinated by PICC’s Social Action Commission, will be held on the church’s campus located at 5856 West Blvd., in Los Angeles.
