Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Friday, June 8, and Sunday, June 10, at 4909 S. Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles. Bishop Thomas Alexander will preach on Friday, at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Bishop Shaun Davis will speak at 11 a.m., and Bishop Robert T. Douglass at 3 p.m. The late Elder Ernest Alexander founded Bethesda Temple in 1988 with 33 charter members. A Thanksgiving Priceless Memory

Past reflections of my good ol’ days of growing up at 564 West 149th Street in New York City centers around Thanksgiving. Counting my brother and cousins, there were 10 of us, and in my family we were known simply as “the kids.” Every Thanksgiving, we kids dined ‘Formal,’ you know, a linen table cloth, china, crystal, silver and small amounts of elegant dinner wine complete with sample tasting for approval. Part two of Thanksgiving celebration was our parents gathering for adult dining after us. The routine was iron clad. We kids, rain, shine, or blizzard went to Macy’s Thanksgiving
