Nneka Ogwumike Named Western Conference Player of the Week

The WNBA announced today that LA Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played between May 29-June 4. This is her 14th time winning the award, passing Brittney Griner and Sylvia Fowles to have the 10th most player of the week honors. 

Sparks Re-Sign Nneka Ogwumike

The Los Angeles Sparks announced today the re-signing of WNBA Champion and 2016 WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike. Per team policy, the terms of the agreement were not released.

Sparks Fall Short Against Minnesota Lynx

After a fourth-quarter rally, the Los Angeles Sparks fell to the Minnesota Lynx 84-77. Sparks guard Brittney Sykes spearheaded the late effort, helping the team battle from a 20-point deficit by scoring 13 points in the final phase.

Understaffed Sparks Fall to Storm

With injuries plaguing the Los Angeles Sparks’ roster, the Seattle Storm was able to nab a 106-69 victory. The Sparks only had eight players available to compete as five players were sidelined.
