The City Audit Towards the end of last year, the City of Compton received an audit report from the State of California with recommendations on improving our City’s financial standing. We are proud to report that the City has met all the April deadlines for Priority 1 Recommendations listed in the Audit with the support of the City Manager’s Office, City Controller’s Office, and Human Resources Department. Movies in the Park, Health Fun Fest, Power Fest

There are three events happening across the Eighth District over the next few weeks. On Friday, I will host the last Movies in the Park for the year at Mt. Carmel Rec Center where we’ll be watching Black Panther*, Wakanda Forever! Next week, join me and Empowerment Congress West at the Health and Wellness Fun Fest at Norman O. Houston Park, including a 5k run, yoga, zumba, and a full day worth of health-focused fun. The weekend right after, Power Fest is moving to the People’s Lot on Vermont and Manchester with a full musical line up and a ferris wheel.
