Big 10 taps Vikings’ Kevin Warren as new commissioner

The Big Ten hired Minnesota Vikings executive Kevin Warren as its new commissioner Tuesday, bringing on a former college basketball player and sports agent with a law degree from Notre Dame to replace Jim Delany and become the first black commissioner of a Power Five conference. The 55-year-old Warren has been the chief operating officer for the Vikings since 2015, the first African-American to hold that position for an NFL franchise. “I’m ready for the challenge. Los Angeles Chargers 2019 Schedule Announced

The National Football League unveiled the complete schedule for its 100th season today, and the Los Angeles Chargers will open the 2019 regular season Sunday, Sept. 8 at home against the Indianapolis Colts and close out the year on the road with a divisional tilt Sunday, Dec. 29 against the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Former NFL coach Dennis Green dies at 67

Green was the first black head coach in Big Ten history when he took over at Northwestern in 1981 and was just the third black head coach in the NFL when the Vikings hired him in 1992.

(May 6, 1952 – November 3, 2015) Frederick Arnold McNeill, Esq. was born in Durham, North Carolina on May 6, 1952. He was the seventh of nine children born to Robert H. McNeill and Julia Mae Scarlett McNeill. He lived in Durham until the age of 12 when his family moved west to Baldwin Park, California.
