The 85-80 win over the Westchester Comets boys basketball team was a milestone for the Birmingham Patriots. For the first time in the school’s history, their boys basketball time won the City Section championship. “There’s a lot of city championships in Birmingham’s history,” said head coach Nicholas Halic. “None of them were boys basketball before this.” Senior Devante Doutrive scored 26 points, eight rebounds, and four assists; junior Devonaire Doutrive made 24 points and eight rebounds.
