More than 500 current business owners, start-up businesses and Wantreprenuers visited the 4th Annual Mobile Retail and Food Truck Expo at Los Angeles Trade Technical College on Saturday, August 13th, where 40 local companies and speakers were showcasing their products and services to help stimulate and support local business and job creation. The event was organized by Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC) in partnership with the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, LA Economic Workforce Development department, American Mobile Retail Association and truck Manufacturer Kareem Carts.
“Marva Smith Battle-Bey’s focused and consistently positive energy will be missed by all of us working to improve conditions in South L.A.,” said Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who like other community leaders, family and friends reached out to various media outlets recently, expressing their grief for Battle-Bey’s passing. “The shopping centers at Vermont & Slauson, which she helped develop and manage, are just a small part of her legacy.
