The Lakers were 58.2 seconds away from their 17th championship when forward LeBron James scored a two-point shot. An exhausted Jimmy Butler shot key free throws to regain the lead for the Heat.

Supervisor Mark-Ridley-Thomas in collaboration with the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation and a number community partners, hosted a socially-distanced, sneak peek of Earvin “Magic” Johnson Park’s new building facilities and myriad of amenities followed by a “drive thru” tour of the park and resource distribution for 2,500 community members. 

Lakers Are Not Concerned About Game Three Loss

As LeBron James walked the court with ten seconds left, the Lakers lost game three 115-104. In the first half, James told Jimmy Butler, “You’re in trouble.” That didn’t turn out so well. Butler had a playoff career night, triple-double with 40 points, 11 rebs, and 13 assists. Butler reciprocated the same energy to James at the end of the game, “You in trouble.” As a result, the Lakers will not sweep Miami as most predicted. 

Lakers Dominate Heat 116-98 In Game One of NBA Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the NBA Finals for the first time in a decade to face the Miami Heat in Game One inside the Orlando Bubble on Wednesday. While the Heat jumped out to a hot start in the first quarter, Los Angeles rebounded to outlast Miami 116-98 and would lead by as many as 32 points in the game. 

NBA’s Playoff Game Boycotts Sparks Domino Effect Across Major League Sports Amidst Jacob Blake Shooting

The Milwaukee Bucks took a historic stand by electing not to play in the scheduled Wednesday Game 5 of the NBA Playoff series versus the Orlando Magic to boycott police brutality and specifically boycott the treatment of Jacob S. Blake, a 29-year-old American Black man who was shot in the back seven times by a Kenosha police officer that left him paralyzed earlier on Sunday.
