Kimberly Brown was recently named the Commercial Real Estate Woman of the Year by – NAIOP So Cal and CREW LA, two leading industry organizations. Brown was acknowledged for her defining leadership as president of the African American Real Estate Professionals – LA Chapter where she led efforts to successfully connect commercial real estate and the Black community.
Mayor Karen Bass delivered the opening keynote address to a standing room only event filled with members and guests for the 5th Annual Market Trends Breakfast of the African American Real Estate Professionals Association Los Angeles (AAREP LA) at City Club Los Angeles in downtown on Tuesday, February 28.
On Saturday, July 23, African American Real Estate Professionals Los Angeles (AAREP LA) presented “South LA Rising: A Bus Tour and Development Project Showcase.” The event was sponsored by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) as part of their mission to pursue unrelenting efforts to move the real estate industry toward the creation of diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities.
Kimberly Brown, managing director at Cushman & Wakefield, will join industry veteran Troy Jenkins and Avison Young, principal and director of Investment Management, as the leadership team guiding the African American Real Estate Professionals Los Angeles.
But many renters, including Black Californians who lease residential property, may not know about the state’s new CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program or they may not have details on how to apply for the available assistance. Other advocates say some renters could simply be confused because there are multiple rental relief programs at the county or city level to help renters.
