Johnson Headlines Holman UMC Prayer Breakfast

  Philanthropist and author Cookie Johnson shared excerpts from her memoir, “Believing in Magic,” at the prayer breakfast sponsored by Holman United Methodist Church on April 14. The theme was “Reset: Prayer, Power, Purpose.” The program featured food by G’s Catering, entertainment by Jubilant Voices, Greg Walker, KJLH Radio Free Voices and Lura Daniels-Ball and video presentations by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Ethiopian Airlines and the Black Cooperative Investment Fund. Also, Holman members Lillian Farrah, Theodore King and Lisa Nicholas participated and Aundrae Russell, KJLH-FM broadcaster, served as emcee.

Local Artists Bring Spectacular Praise to TOS Gospel Stage

Holman UMC presents L.A.-area’s top inspirational performers at Brenda Marsh-Mitchell Stage A dynamic lineup of L.A.-area inspiration artists will bring spectacular praise and worship to the Taste of Soul’s (TOS) Brenda Marsh-Mitchell Gospel Stage (BMM). The performers will join national artists in delivering musical messages of hope and joy at the nation’s largest family festival on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., along Crenshaw Boulevard from Rodeo Blvd. to Stocker Avenue.
