Youssou N’DOUR Splashes Color and Righteous Conscience `Cross the Night at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater

Scott Galloway, Contributing Writer On the warm, Sunday evening of August 6 in Los Angeles, international superstar Youssou N’DOUR and his sprawling ensemble of musicians and singers (plus one sensational local dancer) delivered the pulsating heart and soul of Senegal, West Africa to the recently renovated John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, nestled in the scenic Hollywood Hills. Arriving on his first stop in Southern California in over 6 years, N’DOUR was touring in support of his 34th and most recent recording, Africa Rekk (Africa and that’s final!). This recording marks his first in six years following highly honorable service

Common Culture: Across the Water

Sept. 18 On Sept. 18, from 7:30-11:00pm, Common Culture: Across the Water celebrates intersections of island culture in Los Angeles with music, drum and dance at the Ford Theatres aka John Anson Ford Amphitheatre located at 2580 Cahuenga Blvd, East Hollywood, CA. Organized by M.A.M.A. Earth, the show features performances from Chloe x Halle, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Jungle Fire, Brit Manor + special guests. The dancers, Kimberly Miguel Mullen, Kati Hernandez and Nonosina will weave in traditional movement and drums, all in tribute to legendary Cuban performer, Maestro Lazaro Galarraga (Inglewood). The show will give back to several initiatives including
