Walter and Lillie Saulsberry celebrated their 86th birthdays and 55th wedding anniversary at a surprise family gathering in South Los Angeles.
Thomas Christopher Gibbs, 89, born to Joe “Jodie” and Anna Gibbs on February 19, 1933, in Compton, California, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He resided in Sun Village, California at the time of his passing.
Leo Hill. Sr., who contributed to improving opportunities for African Americans in the greater Los Angeles area and in corporate America, passed away on March 6 at the age of 84.
Recently I visited the Jefferson High Library to conduct research on the history of the school. As I gathered data, four individuals from the Los Angeles Unified School District walked in to conduct a survey of the library that will provide input to the Board of Education as plans are being finalized for the school’s 130 million-dollar renovation project.
