“There is no place like home,” said Stafon Johnson just before his first game as head football coach for the Dorsey High Dons vs. the Santa Monica Vikings. Johnson was a phenom at the running back position for the Dons 2004-2006, earning a full scholarship to USC and playing for the Trojans throughout his college career. The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and Kershaw’s Challenge Announce Partnership to Refurbish ‘Jackie Robinson Stadium’ and Construct ‘Field 42’ in The City of Compton

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and Kershaw’s Challenge announced a partnership to refurbish Jackie Robinson Stadium and construct a new “Field 42” at Gonzales Park in the City of Compton. The project, which was unveiled earlier today during Jackie Robinson Day ceremonies at Dodger Stadium, will commemorate the 100th birthday of Jackie Robinson. Construction will begin later this year on Dodgers Dreamfields 52 and 53, which will continue LADF’s commitment to build 75 Dodgers Dreamfields by the 75th anniversary of the Dodgers’ move to Los Angeles in 2033.
