Rep. Waters Statement on the Appeals Court Ruling that a Provision of Obamacare is Unconstitutional

“I am deeply disappointed by the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit to support the Republicans in their relentless campaign to repeal Obamacare and strip away its protections for people with pre-existing conditions.  This case is further evidence that Republicans will stop at nothing to strike down Obamacare and take away health coverage from millions of Americans.

Healing Our Heart, Mind and Body

Recently I received a call and was asked if I knew someone who wanted to join the team of some of the best and brightest people working on a research project in the area of HIV/AIDS. The project was entitled, “Healing Our Heart, Mind and Body”. It’s not too often to be presented with an opportunity to work with both friends and people you admire. So, when Dr. Gail Wyatt asked if I knew of a person, in particular a man, that wanted to work on this project with her and her team, I said “I’ve got just the right guy for you—ME!”

Physician Calls on Legislators to Oppose Bill Threatening California’s Most Vulnerable Dialysis Patient Population

If passed, SB 1156 will severely limit the ability of charitable organizations from providing financial assistance to dialysis patients in need. These are the charitable organizations whose financial assistance allows for access to treatment and care for thousands of patients suffering from kidney failure in California, including many minority patients. For these patients, charitable assistance is the sole reason they are able to continue paying for their costly and life-sustaining dialysis treatment.
