Car Crashes Into Harvest Tabernacle Church

Shockwaves traveled through the Harvest Tabernacle Bible Church family upon learning that an SUV crashed through their building on Dec. 11. The LAPD reported that the vehicle struck a traffic signal then careened into the church located on the corner of 55th Street and Holmes Ave., in South Los Angeles. Fortunately, the accident occurred about 1:15 a.m. and the building was unoccupied.   However, the downed utility pole led to city workers deactivating power lines in the area, said Officer G. City of L.A. Dedicates Bishop Cook Square

  The dedication ceremony was held October 16 during 40th anniversary celebration of Harvest Tabernacle Bible Church. The designation recognizes his accomplishments and contributions to improving the 9th District and community-at-large. The occasion also marked Cook’s retirement as pastor of Harvest Tabernacle. His successor, son Dr. Donald R. Cook II, will be installed as pastor on Sunday, November 13, at 4 p.m., at 88th Street Temple Church of God In Christ, 8825 South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Cook to Retire as Pastor of Harvest Tabernacle

A retirement celebration is set for Bishop Donald R. Cook, Sr., on Sunday, October 16, at 3 p.m. The service will take place during the 40th anniversary observance of Harvest Tabernacle Bible Church, located at 1746 E. 55th St., in Los Angeles. After forty‐five years of dedicated service to ministry, Bishop Donald R. Cook Sr. of Harvest Tabernacle Bible Church, 1746 E. 55th St. in Los Angeles will officially retire during the church’s upcoming 40th anniversary celebration on Sunday, October 16, at 3 p.m. His successor, son Dr. Donald R.
