Brandon Harris Performs in VERDISSIMO! Plus! at First Presbyterian Church

On April 29 and 30, The Verdi Chorus’ 39th season will finish with “VERDISSIMO! Plus!” for two performances only at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Verdi Chorus is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus. Countertenor Brandon Harris will be performing with the chorus and shared a little bit about performing in the concert and working with Ketchum.

First Presbyterian Presents ‘Gospel In Jazz And Standards’

The Rev. Arthur C. Ross, Jr., and Shelli Boone will be featured in “First Time: The Gospel in Jazz and Standards.” The Bel-Vue Jazz Ensemble will also be featured. The event will be held on October 16, at 3:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Hillcrest Avenue in Inglewood. Ross, who has served as pastor of Bel-Vue Community Presbyterian Church for the past 32 years, produced the album, “Truth Will Rise” in conjunction with the late Dr. Isaiah Jones Jr. A graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, he also co-founded the New Songhai Empire Gospel Choral Ensemble and wrote the
