Over the weekend several media outlets reported that Eddie Levert of the famous O’Jays had fainted on stage at a recent concert. He is doing better according to his daughter Shawn Levert who shared the following statement on Facebook.
Music icon Eddie Levert, Sr. is underappreciated to say the least. Many people do not recognize the impactful contribution he has made to music over the last four decades. His career has transcended generations standing the test of time.
Eddie Levert will take the stage at the legendary Maverick’s Flat on Crenshaw Blvd. April 24.
Eddie Levert was a founding member of the hit recording group The O’Jays, who epitomized the Philly sound. The group was responsible for such hits as “Love Train,” “Stairway To Heaven, “Backstabbers,” “Money, Money, Money and “Usta Be My Girl.”
