Local Prep Stars Become NFL First-Round Draft Picks

Among the 32 first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, five were natives of Southern California. Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, USC wide receiver Drake London, Washington corner Trent McDuffie, Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave, and Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd had their dreams come true on Thursday.

Student Athlete of the Week: Drake London

Drake London of USC is projected to be one of the top junior wide receivers in the nation. Last season, he was named on the Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team and the All-Pac-12 second team. For the first time in his athletic career, London is focusing on one sport. During his freshman year, London was a dual-sport athlete, playing basketball and football for the Trojans. USC is Looking to Build on Winning Season

After demanding Governor Gavin Newsom to allow them to compete, the USC Trojans dominated their unprecedented season in 2020. After going undefeated in their five-game season, they fell short 24-31 to the Oregon Ducks.

Turnovers Propel No. 7 Oregon Over USC

With the PAC12 South title still in play, USC was looking to continue their undefeated streak at home against the seventh ranked Oregon Ducks. The Trojans have looked unstoppable at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum defeating two ranked opponents for a 4-0 home record. The streak came to an end in a 56-24 loss at the hand of the Ducks who are atop the PAC12 with a 5-0 conference record.
