Compton Community College District to Host Virtual ‘Back to School’ Town Hall August 11

The Compton Community College District (CCCD) will hold a Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. via the Zoom conferencing app. CCCD Board of Trustees Member Dr. Deborah Sims Leblanc will host the meeting. New and returning students, parents, and community members will have an opportunity to learn more about what Compton College has to offer and participate in a discussion with the Board of Trustees member. Topics to be covered during the virtual Town Hall Meeting include Compton College’s Oliver W. Conner Promise Program which provides two years of free college for eligible students;

Compton College Receives $400,000 Grant for Guided Pathways

The Compton Community College District (CCCD) was awarded a $400,000 grant from the College Futures Foundation to support Compton College’s implementation of its Tartar Completion by Design (Guided Pathways), Dual Enrollment, block scheduling, and transfer partnerships.

Compton College’s population of students, faculty and staff reflects the diversity of the residents that live within the Compton Community College District (CCCD) service area, which encompasses 12 cities includingthe communities of Compton, Lynwood, Paramount and Willowbrook, as well as portions of Athens, Bellflower, Carson, Downey, Dominguez, Lakewood, Long Beach, and South Gate.
