Kevin Hart Receives Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

Kevin Hart, who rose from the open mics and comedy clubs of his native Philadelphia to become one of his country’s most recognizable performers, received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on March 24, in a gala performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

“That’s one thing that I think definitely was a detriment to my standup career, is I wasn’t on the road like my peers,” said Spencer. “Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Jamie Fox — these were the guys in my class, and they were hitting the road hard, and now they’re all very wealthy comedians.”

“The news that the Pennsylvania State Parole Board has denied parole is not a surprise to Mr. Cosby, his family, his friends, and his legal team,” Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt said in a statement. “It was brought to our attention by Mr. Cosby that over the past months, members of the PA State Parole Board had met with him and empathically stated, ‘if he did not participate in SVP courses that his parole would be denied,’” Wyatt continued.
