Los Angeles officials are reminding residents that they have a few options for properly disposing of their Christmas trees
Electrical failures or malfunctions — damaged light strands or, in a very tragic 2015 fire that claimed six lives, a corroded electrical outlet — also cause one- fourth of Christmas tree fires.
But before your tree-hunting adventure begins, it’s important to be prepared.
Nov. 30 Union Station ushers in the holiday season on Thursday, November 30, at the Annual Tree Lighting under the stars on the station’s South Patio, featuring an elaborate new holiday light display. For the first time in the station’s history, a massive Christmas wreath, measuring 20 feet in diameter and weighing nearly 800 pounds, has been raised atop the iconic clock tower. The historic station has been transforms into a winter wonderland with thousands of glistening lights and dancing snowflakes surrounding a towering all white Christmas tree.
