More than 100 people came out to The Quiet Cannon Restaurant to salute Bettye Faye Nichols, the director emerita of the CME Southern California Region Department of Public Relations. Nichols, a long-time Sentinel contributor, has devoted 30+ years to publicizing the activities of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, both on a local and national level. Curry Temple CME Church will host Missionary Annual Day with two services on Sunday, April 30, in its sanctuary located at 322 W. Rosecrans Ave. in Compton.
