The Fall into Wellness Family Health Fair, aiming to address economic, health, and social disparities in the Watts community, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1751 E. 114th Street, in Los Angeles. Free immunizations and health screenings will be available along with food, music and other resources. Community and hospital volunteers will staff booths featuring art and educational activities for children, first aid training, and job opportunities for adults. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with West Angeles Church of God in Christ (COGIC) on September 11, as part of the university’s continuing efforts to increase enrollment, especially through local community pipelines.
