A bill that would expand CEQA exemptions for certain supportive housing projects crossed a significant hurdle in the California Senate this week, earning unanimous support in the Environmental Quality Committee. AB 1197, authored by Assemblymember Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles), would ensure that state and local funding to build temporary and supportive housing projects can be spent more quickly and efficiently in the city of LA.

State Bill Streamlines Path For Clippers’ Move to Inglewood

Legislation that would streamline the state environmental review process for the proposed Los Angeles Clippers arena in Inglewood is on its way to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk after winning unanimous approval from the state Senate and passing in the Assembly, 68-4.

Legislation Aimed at Speedy Completion of Clippers Arena 

Assemblywoman Sydney Kamlager Dove (D- Los Angeles) along with Inglewood city officials and private business owners held a press conference on the future Clippers Arena site, to garner community-wide support for a bill aimed at ensuring the project meets environmental standards while maintaining “vital” community interests.
