Fugh reappointed the majority of Los Angeles-area pastors to their churches at the close of the Southern California Annual Conference of the AME Church during the Closing Worship and Commissioning Service on Oct. 30. Fugh Assigned as New Bishop of AME 5th District

The Right Rev. Clement W. Fugh is the new bishop of the 5th Episcopal District of the AME Church, which encompasses 14 states west of the Mississippi River. He succeeds Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Sr., who retired after fifty years of active ministry. The assignment was announced July 13 at the close of the 50th Quadrennial Session and General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
