The Grammy-nominated singer’s image and lyrics from her standout single “Rise Up” will appear exclusively on more than 40 million Coca-Cola cups at select McDonald’s throughout the country, Coke officials told The Associated Press on Monday. Day’s appearance on the red-and-white cups is an extension of the recently launched “Share a Cup and a Song” lyrics program.
BET Networks on April 4 announced its acquisition of Soul Train from InterMedia Partners and The Yucaipa Companies.
The acquisition brings together two important African American brands and further strengthens BET’s investment in urban content across all mediums,” said a spokesperson for BET via a recently released statement.

On January 25, 1980, Bob Johnson launched Black Entertainment Television (BET). The network originally broadcasted for two hours a week as a block programming on Nickelodeon. It wasn’t until 1983 when BET became a full-fledged channel, where the lineup consisted of mostly music videos and reruns of popular Black sitcoms.

McDonald’s USA will televise its 12th annual 365Black Awards ceremony for the third consecutive year on the national cable television network Black Entertainment Television (BET). Hosted by national TV correspondent/actor Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins and leading actress KeKe Palmer, the program will initially air Sunday, August 23 at 9:00 p.m. EDT/8:00 p.m. CDT. Those who miss the first airing can catch it again the following Sunday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. EDT/10:00 a.m. CDT on BET and at 7:00 p.m. EDT/6:00 p.m. CDT and 12:00 a.m. EDT/11:00 p.m. CDT on CENTRIC-TV.
