Leader of Pharmacy Robbery Crew Sentenced to Prison

A Lynwood man was sentenced today to 20 years behind bars for running a crew that committed 15 armed robberies of independent, mom-and-pop pharmacies across Southern California, with the intent of illegally selling the stolen prescription medication. Tyrome “Boobie” Lewis, 26, was found guilty in June of all eight felony charges he faced. Lewis has been in federal custody since his arrest in July 2019, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Man Indicted for Nipsey Hussle Killing

A 29-year-old man pleaded not guilty today to a grand jury indictment charging him with the March 31 killing of Nipsey Hussle and the wounding of two other men in front of the rapper’s clothing store in South Los Angeles. CPUC to Hold Public Forums on Park Water Rate Increase Requests

Park Water is requesting CPUC approval (A.18-01-003) to increase revenues by $1.1 million (3.21 percent) in 2019 over current revenues; by $1.77 million (4.98 percent) in 2020; and by $1.94 million (5.24 percent) in 2021. In total, the increases would amount to $4.83 million over three years, resulting in a $20.70 bi-monthly increase to the average customer bill by the year 2021.
