Manning Plans Homeless Prayer Vigil for Mayor Bass

Pastor Sherman D. Manning, founder of Yes We Can Worship Center (YWCWC), and the Baptist Ministers Conference of Los Angeles under the leadership of Pastor K.W. Tullos have called a National Homeless Prayer Vigil for L.A. Mayor Karen Bass. The vigil will be held on Friday, February 3, at 7 p.m., at YWCWC, 10306 Avalon Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Black Clergy Honor Bass and Lee on International Women’s Day

The California Black Women’s Collective united with faith leaders throughout the state to recognize the achievements of U.S. Congresswomen Karen Bass and Barbara Lee. More than 200 people logged-in on International Women’s Day, March 8, to pay tribute to the political trailblazers. Tulloss Leads Faith-Based Groups in Protesting Death of George Floyd

The Rev. K.W. Tulloss, president of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Southern California, assembled a protest on June 2, to honor the life of George Floyd, an African American man who was murdered on May 25, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Clergy from throughout the Los Angeles community participated to demonstrate solidarity and demand justice for George Floyd. “It is not enough to remain silent. The victims of Hurricanes Harvey will receive more financial support, thanks to the efforts of six L.A.-area Baptist organizations. Faith Community Unites to Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

  The historic flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey galvanized the Los Angeles faith community into action with multiple efforts underway to assist hundreds of thousands in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. The various donation drives, conducted by denominational and independent ministries, urge L.A. residents to contribute bottled water, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other items to help victims rebound from the wide-ranging destruction. WBSC Contributes $40,000 to Feed Homeless
