Calling on Alumni to Hold Colleges and Universities Accountable for the Success of Black Students
Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-13) today voted to pass H.R.1843, the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, which aims to combat the rise in Anti-Asian hate crimes since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the virus grows, so do the approach to stop it. The new way of celebration is limiting but it’s for the betterment and progression of the city. The community has to think as a whole and take in the accountability for everyone. Although public officials prepare for a surge in transmission due to Halloween celebration, the mayor mentioned, the next point on this plot will be up to the citizens checking for one another and socially distanced, but united in spirit.
The mayor emphasized the progress can be derailed if the community slacks on social distancing efforts. Garcetti encourage the city to remain in a space of unity as we waiver through multiple fires and hardship brought on by the impact of COVID-19.
Success On “The Way”…

The Black community’s failure to recognize and acknowledge the need for broad, overall accountability absolves everyone
Beginning with a controversial nomination that ended in a tie-breaking Senate confirmation vote and continuing throughout her tenure as Education Secretary, Betsy DeVos has faced unceasing criticism.
One of the biggest faults of man is denying responsibility for his/her actions and behavior; to disown wrongdoings and blame on someone else. From Adam, who blamed God and Eve for his bad decision making to listen to his wife and violate God’s commands, we see it ‘til now.
The failure of public schools to properly educate Black students is criminal. They have long been at the bottom of virtually every measure of effective schooling. Yet the Black community has remained largely on the sidelines; its dominant response, silence.
Effective, committed leadership—and leadership accountability—are central for developing sustainable solutions to chronically failing public schools
We can no longer afford to be entertained beyond the point of accountability
Accountability is most often mentioned when describing the performance of elected and/or appointed public officials
Indeed, ours is a righteous and relentless struggle whose battlefronts and battle lines are everywhere
Accountability is now a buzz word throughout the country
