Rising R&B phenomenon Maeta stunned Los Angeles at her Los Angeles show at the Moroccan Lounge on her “When I Hear Your Name Tour,” gracing her audience with her powerful voice and talent.
Throughout the years, Maeta has showcased her talent in many forms, beginning on Soundcloud, and releasing Instagram covers from her favorite artists. Her debut EP, “Do Not Disturb” was released in 2019 and was a journey through her emotions while navigating her move from Indianapolis to Los Angeles. “Do Not Disturb” received critical acclaim, fans, inevitably taking her career to new heights.
Moving along to 2021, Maeta then released her debut album “Habits” with features from artists such as Buddy, Leven Kali and BEAM. Then in 2023, she released her newest album, “When I Hear Your Name,” with more striking features from James Fauntleroy, Ambré, Lucky Daye, Ty Dolla $ign, and Free Nationals.
Maeta also comes from an artistic background – her mother is a visual artist and her father is a drum player. The influence of creativity has helped to push her to become the artist she is today. Maeta has always used her musical talent to express her deepest emotions, giving listeners a sense of belonging when it comes to expressing oneself.
Through Maeta’s music she explains that she knows what it feels like to find to find yourself in a toxic relationship and discusses her relationship with the person that has influenced so much her music, saying “like my music, it feeds me…it’s all I sing about.”
In her newest EP, Maeta gets into the ups and downs of relationships, emotions, and love. With sessions all over the world from L.A. to New York to London, working with Pharell, Kehlani and Kaytranada, Maeta’s growth is bountiful noting, “I have a feeling it’s going to be an amazing year.”
