The Serving Spoon is a family-owned business that has been operating in the heart of Inglewood for 40 years.
The Serving Spoon has been passed down from generation to generation. Starting with the originators, Harold and Brenda Sparks, to the innovators, (daughter) Angela and JC Johnson, to the current owners, the elevators, (grandchildren) Justin Johnson and Jessica Bane.
In celebration of their 40th anniversary, the Serving Spoon put on a party for the community thanking them for their continuous support. At the event, the owners offered soul food, giveaways, music, and games for everyone to enjoy.
They were joined by the Inglewood Mayor James Butts, who shared his congratulations and acknowledged the Serving Spoon as one of the “anchor businesses of Inglewood.”
The Serving Spoon is known for their comforting breakfast soul food, which includes their famous fried catfish, eggs, grits and more. The Serving Spoon continues to offer Inglewood’s best soul food and great customer service with the expectation that their customers experience “love at first bite!”
