WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Lauren Underwood (IL-14) made the following statement after she was appointed by her colleagues to serve on the House Committee on Homeland Security for the 116th Congress.
“Our country faces a broad range of threats to our security. It is an honor to represent the people of the Illinois 14th District and the broader region as I work with my colleagues to protect all Americans from threats to our infrastructure, public health, cybersecurity, and elections, and ensure we maintain safe and secure borders,” said Congresswoman Lauren Underwood. “I look forward to using my experience in emergency preparedness and response to ensure communities are equipped with the tools they need to prevent, respond to, and recover from disasters.”
