Viola Davis and Lemuel Plummer to Produce True Crime & Justice Series, ‘Two Sides of the Truth,’ for TV One
With a host of projects, films and series under her belt, the Academy Award winner, Viola Davis will showcase a True Crime & Justice Series for TV One. She joins her husband and fellow actor, Julius Tennon of JuVee Productions and CEO and President, Lemuel Plummer of L. Plummer Media (LPM) for the landmark limited series, “Two Sides of the Truth.” The series will focus on four high profile cases that have been watershed moments for law enforcement and the Black community. Produced for the TV One network by L. Plummer Media in partnership with JuVee Productions, “Two Sides of the Truth” will dissect and present both points of view of these highly charged cases, so the audience can draw their own conclusions after hearing both sides of the story. Davis will narrate the limited series. “Every other week we hear about these horrific incidences and many of them go unsolved and unresolved. We hope that this show can take those headlines and humanize them,” said Davis. “We want to give an unbiased approach to digging into what really happened on those fateful days and in doing so, hopefully shed some light and bring some awareness to such an important issue,” said Tennon. “Two Sides of the Truth” is executive produced by Davis, Tennon and Andrew T. Wang of JuVee Productions, Plummer and Jason L. Tolbert of L. Plummer Media with LPM overseeing production. “A project of this magnitude calls for partners like JuVee Productions and TV One who understand the issues at-stake and the importance of good, accurate, storytelling. ‘Mike Tyson Mysteries’ returns on Adult Swim for Season Three Sunday, May 14th
The quarter-hour animated adult comedy series, “Mike Tyson Mysteries” will return for its third season on Adult Swim. Mike Tyson and the team — Yung Hee, Mike’s adopted Korean daughter and all-around buzzkill; Pigeon, a filthy disgusting man trapped in a filthy disgusting bird; and Marquess, a ghost whose favorite time of day is “wine-thirty” are back and ready to (attempt to) solve more mysteries! Highlights of the animated series include A retelling of the team’s very first mystery, A Mystery so complicated that Mike gives up, A trip to the car wash, Dinner at a neighbor’s house and much more! “Mike Tyson Mysteries” stars Mike Tyson, Norm Macdonald (“Saturday Night Live”), Rachel Ramras (“MAD”) and Oscar winner Jim Rash (“The Way Way Back” and “Community”) and is produced by Warner Bros. NFL Star Victor Cruz Hosts an MTV ‘The Challenge’ Special Event “Champs vs. Pros”
“The Challenge” brings out ten of the strongest athletes from across the sports world to compete for ultimate bragging rights during a special six-week series. Super Bowl champion and ex-NFL wide receiver for the New York Giants, Victor Cruz will host MTV “The Challenge” Special Event “Champs vs. Pros.” The football star is expanding his brand, teaming with MTV as they expand one of their popular and iconic franchises, “The Challenge.” The program will be a special six-week event that answers the question – what will happen when ten of America’s top athletes go up against ten of MTV’s top competitors from the show? “Champs vs. Pros” will feature some of the strongest contestants from the franchise, going head to head with some of the fiercest opponents who span the professional sports world from football to skiing, UFC to surfing and more. Each episode will focus on a different strength: Agility, Ingenuity, Brawn, Brains, Endurance, and Guts. The roster of Pros runs from retired NFL star Kamerion Wimbley, NFL Linebacker Shawne Merriman, Olympic Hurdler, Bobsledder & World Champion, Lolo Jones, Olympian & Fitness expert Louise Hazel and former WNBA Athlete Candice Wiggins.
