Traci Braxton, R&B singer and the star of WE tv’s television show “Braxton Family Values,” has died, according to her husband Kevin Surrat.
“We have come to the time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for Esophageal cancer, our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory,” Surrat said in a statement about his wife’s death. He shared the news with TMZ.
Toni Braxton, Braxton’s older sister, communicated her heartbreak on Instagram, including a statement from the the whole Braxton family. Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar Braxton are the five Braxton sisters.
Toni requested her viewers to respect their privacy as they plan to send Braxton home with love. “We are family forever,” she wrote at the end of her post.
Braxton was a member of a musical group with her sisters in the 1990s. The L.A. Sentinel sends healing thoughts and peace around the Braxton family during this time.
Toni stated, “Needless to say, she was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and a respected performer. We will miss her dearly. Traci passed this morning as the snow was falling, our angel is now a snowflake.”
