The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the return of powerhouse executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan for the 97th Oscars® broadcast, set for March 2, 2025.
Fresh off an Emmy® win for their exceptional work on the 96th Oscars, Kapoor and Mullan are once again teaming up with acclaimed director Hamish Hamilton, who will direct the event for the fifth time.
Production designers Misty Buckley and Alana Billingsley, also Emmy winners from last year’s telecast, and music director Michael Bearden, a new addition to the lineup, round out the show’s distinguished creative team. The Oscars will air live on ABC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with the official red carpet show preceding at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Raj Kapoor, with eight Emmy nominations and notable credits that include the Grammys® and “Adele: One Night Only,” returns to lead the team, bringing a flair for dynamic, live television events. Mullan, a partner at Done + Dusted, is celebrated for her work on global live events such as the London Olympics and “The Little Mermaid Live!”
Returning director Hamish Hamilton is widely recognized for his impressive resume, which includes directing the Super Bowl Halftime Show and the London Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Music director Michael Bearden, whose resume includes collaborations with Whitney Houston, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, brings fresh energy to the team, elevating the musical moments of this year’s Oscars.
Production designers Misty Buckley and Alana Billingsley are back to set the visual tone of the night, having previously collaborated on projects ranging from the Grammy Awards to the Commonwealth Games. Emmy-winning David Chamberlin is also set to produce the red carpet show, continuing his successful run of high-profile, live-event productions.
The Oscars, held at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, will be broadcast globally to more than 200 territories, celebrating the finest achievements in film.
