Andy Rudolph Rooks died on February 20, 2019. Andy is the son of late Walter Rooks and Rosetta Rooks (Wilborn). He was born in Houston, TX on March 16, 1939. He was one of seven children. He graduated from Fidelity Manor High School. He loved jazz, teaching people about the Bible, baseball, BBQ, being an urban gardener, along with cherishing time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a Jehovah’s Witness Elder for his congregation. Andy worked for the US Postal Service for over thirty years, retiring as an Engineer. He exuded a warm and hospitable nature, and would brighten any room with his smile and endless humor.
He and his devoted wife Marion R. Rooks (Brown) treasured over 61 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his son, Andy R. Rooks; his siblings Henry Rooks, John Rooks, Willie Mae Rooks and Hazel White (Rooks). He is survived by his sisters; Rosie Rooks and Geanie V. Harrison (Rooks). He is survived by his daughters Ingrid Lamirault (Rooks) and Marilyn Rooks. His 7 grandchildren; Nichole Horton (Rooks), Corey Humphrey, Christopher Glover, Kevin Glover, Nicholas Frangenberg, Andrew Rooks, and his beloved youngest granddaughter will share their memories about him. His great-grandchildren; Adam Humphrey, Corie Lynn Humphrey, Kingston Glover, and Courtney Frazier will continue to hear stories about his unique and outstanding life. In addition a great crowd of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will continue to love and deeply miss him.
